|The University of Pittsburgh Press wanted a modern, user friendly platform to replace its badly outdated legacy systems. Currently the press uses an in-house developed FileMaker Pro database to store and manage title data, marketing information and production data. Rights are managed in a separate database, while royalties are managed using Excel. And much critical book, author, and contract information is still trapped in paper files.|
